CADIZ, KY – The second annual Trigg County Civil War Days event is only a few weeks away on March 18, 19 and 20 in downtown Cadiz according to Gary Polete, Chairman of the TCCWD committee and owner of Futrell House Bed & Breakfast on Main Street. The entire event is free and open to the public.
The re-enactment is expected to be larger than the 2010 event. Polete said, “Right now registrations are running a little higher than last year, plus we always get a lot of people registering at the last minute. Last year we had 96 total, and we’re anticipating between 150 and 200 re-enactors this year so it’s going to be a great 2011 event.”
Friday is all about education and school groups. Re-enactors start registering in the West Cadiz Park at 7 am. The state’s History-mobile will again be stationed in the park that day and the camp will be open for school tours be-ginning at 2 pm. Camps will open to the public at 3 pm with self-guided Candlelight Camp Tours and Artillery Night Fire that evening…. read on!
