Reliving Battle of the Bulge


Held on a very cold Saturday the Battle of the Bulge was relived and opened to the public.  
Saturday January 29, 2011. 

FORT INDIANTOWN GAP – A steady snow began to fall as the Allied soldiers muscled their way through the dense forest. German troops, shielded behind fallen logs and snowbanks, watched and waited with rifles at the ready.Who fired the first shot, we’ll never know, but the stillness was broken, replaced with the sound of rifle and submachine fire and the occasional cry for a medic.  

Allied troops claimed victory on the snow-covered Fort Indiantown Gap battlefield Saturday morning. The 66th commemoration of the Battle of the Bulge, re-enacted by Allied and Axis living historians of the World War II Federation, was one of two battles held for the general public on Saturday… read on!
