Since our start in 2007 on myspace we’ve come across some really interesting information from members within our community. But since most of the information can only be viewed if you have a myspace account and if you are part of our friends network. To make sure no one gets left behind I’ll post any upcoming events, news, and other interesting things that is being discussed on myspace blogs and bulletins.
#1. New Unit Being Formed!
If you live in the Evendale Ohio area, this is great news for you.
Cincinnati, OH, are forming up a new Federal company out of Evendale, OH
(North-east side Cincinnati), 35th OVI, Co E.
We’ll let you know if we hear anything else as soon as we get any more information
#2. Reenactor’s Estate Sale
WHEN: January 17th and 18th (MLK’s birthday weekend)
WHERE: Mount Rainier, MD
DESCRIPTION: Items for sale will include: Costumes (medieval, Renaissance, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th century, sci fi) and accessories (shoes, hats, gloves, etc.) . Reproduction weapons and armor. I’ll get a list of actual items to you later. If there is anything specific you’re interested in, contact me off list. . Books, especially history books . Fabric (lots and lots and lots of fabric) . Wargaming miniatures and computer programs .

#3. 7th Annual Napoleonic Campaign! Figured since they posted a youtube commercial for this event, it was safe for me to post this on the blog. This event is a REENACTORS ONLY event sorry….
WHERE: Anza, CA
WHEN: May 1,2,3 2009
WHO: Napoleonic reenactors: Soldiers and ladies and period civilian observers…. (Rev War and Civil War Reenactors are welcomed! We have some tips on how to convert your look to Spanish guerillas) THIS IS NOT A GENERAL PUBLIC EVENT. This is a PRIVATE EVENT. All folks are REQUIRED to dress in period clothing or uniform.
TIME PERIOD: Our timeline is 1807-1813, Peninsula Wars in Spain and Portugal… somewhere near Cindad Rodrigo…(As in Baron de Marbot’s memoirs.) there were troops from all over Europe in this region fighting for the Allies or the French. There were numerous guerilla civilian and militia troops and well as main line combatants. “Valour is never forgotten only the
forgotten battle”
WHAT: This is a chance to meet new friends and contacts for those interested in celebrating this Napoleonic time period 1795-1815. There will be skirmishes (in Napoleonic style), and music, camaraderie and dancing at night. Please bring or invite music, instruments and or musicians. There will be flintlock weapons, swords, horses and small cannons, so if these startle you, be forewarned.

There are reenactors who use myspace, but there are a fare amount of them who use facebook. Currently we use myspace as a way to advertise whereas upon signing up for facebook we use it to connect to people.
